How it works
An ORIX Novated Lease helps employees to optimise their salary by providing fleet discounts, GST savings and a flexible and easy way to budget.
With traditional forms of financing, running costs and finance payments are paid with post tax dollars and include GST; with Novated Leasing, many of these costs are paid with pre tax dollars and may not include GST.
Traditional personal loans don’t provide fleet discounts or tax savings, nor do they include discounted fuel and maintenance costs.
And unlike Novated Leasing, running costs are usually charged at retail price plus GST. An ORIX Novated Lease is an easy way to have the vehicle that fits any lifestyle – whatever the budget.

How much can be saved?
A Novated Lease offers employees a simple and convenient way of including a vehicle in their salary package.
Finance and running costs are GST-free and collected (in part or in full) from an employees’ gross salary, reducing taxable income and optimising take home pay. Plus, you can save even more, with fleet discounts on vehicle purchase and running costs such as maintenance, tyres and fuel. And you can choose a vehicle that suits your lifestyle and business needs – and keep the vehicle if you change jobs.
Employees can choose any make and model – new, used or a luxury vehicle. ORIX can even purchase their current vehicle and lease it back to them. Although most vehicles are eligible for an ORIX Novated Lease, some vehicles may be ineligible (for example, vehicles older than ten years or greater than 200,000 km by lease end). Before lease end, ORIX will contact the employee and discuss their options, which may include extending or replacing their vehicle lease.
ORIX sets the residual value based on the lease term, in line with the ATO’s minimum residual value guidelines.
Any surplus or deficit in budget will be calculated and forwarded to the employer within 5 business days, who will then pass this onto the employee via their payroll.
