ORIX’s eTrial allows businesses to test zero and low emission vehicles (ZLEV)
in their fleet without committing to long-term leases or upfront costs.
ORIX will help you understand and assess what impact the electrification of transport could have on your operations. The learnings from the eTrial can be used by you as part of the design and development of a low-carbon emission plan to help meet your sustainability goals.
Stop guessing, start knowing
Here are the steps that will occur in an eTrial.
1. Analyse
We begin by completing an assessment of your fleet, driver profiles and vehicle requirements, focused on the end use and required range.
2. Test
Our zero and low emission vehicles are rented to your business on a minimum three-month eTrial, under ORIX's rental terms and conditions. You will have the option to access ORIX Share to allow multiple drivers to book and manage a vehicle during the eTrial.
Training packs are provided to support drivers through the eTrail and to help overcome any barriers.
3. Review
We conduct periodic driver surveys to assess vehicle type, range, charging, costs, driver performance and satisfaction to understand suitability and potential impact on your business.
We’ll use our detailed reporting to monitor your fleet during the eTrial to ensure all runs to plan.
4. Validate
We will review your existing fleet profile and compare it
against the eTrial analysis to identify future opportunities to electrify your
fleet.
5. Report
The results of the eTrial will assist us in the design of a customer-specific report with data-driven analytics and summaries
to help you in making more informed decisions when considering transitioning your fleet or vehicles in it to zero and low emission vehicles.
Test drive with our range of vehicles
We understand that not all zero and low emission vehicles (ZLEV) are suitable for all businesses. ORIX can provide a range of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) for your assessment. We’ll work with you to identify the most suitable vehicles to align with your fleet and sustainability goals.

Helping you achieve your sustainability goals
FBT Exemption
In the Treasury Laws Amendment (Electric Car Discount) Bill 2022 (the Bill) the Government has proposed exempting some electric vehicles (EVs) from Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT). Leasing an EV via a novated lease is now more affordable.
The Government announced a proposal to remove FBT on Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) purchased on or after 1 July 2022.1
You can find more details on FBT exemption on the ATO website. For anything else, you can contact us on 1300 652 886.
NSW EV Incentives
If you run a fleet in NSW and are looking for financial support to help transition your fleet to electric after the eTrial, now is the time to consider the switch.
The NSW Government’s investing $105 million in their Drive electric NSW EV fleets incentive, supporting NSW businesses as well as interstate businesses operating in NSW to purchase battery electric vehicles (BEVs) or fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). The incentive is also available for smart base charging.
Incentive payments are intended to cover part of the total cost of ownership (TCO) gap between a BEV/FCEV and an equivalent internal combustion engine vehicle (ICEV).
If you’re interested in applying for an incentive, chat to the team at ORIX on 1300 652 886 to discuss your options.
Education
It’s easy to get sold on the idea of going electric, especially with rising fuel prices and operational cost constraints. But before leaping in, it’s important for fleet managers do their homework to understand what’s involved in transitioning to EVs and what vehicles are fit-for-purpose.
We offer a range of educational webinars where we share our first-hand experience in considering sustainable fleet management practices.
If you would like more information on our educational webinars, contact our Product Team at product@orix.com.au.
